The National Educational Assessment and Examination Agency (NEAEA) is now known as the Educational Assessment and Examination Services (EAES) of Ethiopia. Its official website, www.neaea.gov.et, provides students with access to the Ethiopian National Exam Results for grades 8, 10, and 12 in 2026.

Additionally, neaeagovet.com will provide precise information regarding the date and time when students can check their placement results and other entrance exam outcomes. Students can also access further updates for the 2011-2012 EC. For direct result access, students may use the portal www.nae.gov.et or SMS service at 8181 with the code ‘RTW.’

Highlighting recent achievements, the 2016 high school graduation certificate (Grade 10) and University Admission (Grade 12) exams were successfully administered at national exam stations. Over half of the students participating in the 2016 Grade 12 National Examination scored above 350.

Result Updates

EAES ET Result 2018

According to a recent update by the Ministry of Ethiopia, the Grade 12 national examination results will be announced on Monday (September 10, 2014). Students can check the results on the following website. Once the results are published, we will update the official links for you.

Note: For the time being, the result is announced offline. It will take several hours to publish it online.

The announcement for Ethiopia’s secondary education final exam (12th grade) for the 2018 academic year has been made public. The national exam for 12th graders will be conducted online from Hamle 3-5 for Social Sciences and from Hamle 9-11/2016 for Natural Sciences, as well as on paper.

The paper exams for Social Sciences candidates will take place at universities from Scene 30 to Hamle 01/2016 and for Natural Sciences from Hamle 6-7/2016. Therefore, we advise all candidates and stakeholders to make the necessary preparations. Let us work together to prevent exam malpractice and cheating.

What is EAES: Educational Assessment and Examination Services?

Among its other responsibilities, the Educational Assessment and Examinations Services (EAES) in Ethiopia has the authority and obligation to organize nationwide examinations, in accordance with the nation’s education curriculum and training policies.

The EAES also oversees the administration of national exams, guaranteeing their confidentiality and security. Furthermore, they manage a facility dedicated to securely storing the results of national exams. It’s also within their duty to issue exam result certificates to test-takers. In addition to these, the EAES conducts educational assessments and provides customer-oriented services, including re-issuing certificates, authenticating and verifying documents, and announcing examination results.

What is SSLE?

The Secondary School Leaving Examination (SSLE) is conducted annually in Ethiopia. It is a national examination where pupils sit at the end of their final year. A pupil can sit the SSLE if he/she is studying in an approved institution in Ethiopia.

The National Educational Assessment and Examination Agency (NEAEA), Ethiopia, is supposed to have its websites, www.nae.gov.et and www.neaea.gov.et. At present, both websites are running smoothly.

We have redeveloped result.ethernet.edu.et in 2024 for students and public use. However, updates on Ethiopian national examination results and dates will be posted here.

The NEAEA is upgrading its website ahead of the release of the Grade 10 Result 2020, and the results are expected shortly.

Note: The official web URL, www neaea gov et, is inaccessible to the public due to maintenance work. Now, it shows “HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.” However, the website will be fully functional after the results are released. Generally, the result is expected to be released in the afternoon.

PSLCE: Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination

www.neaea.gov.et 2024: According to Ethiopia’s education and training policy, “Primary education is of eight years duration, offering basic and general primary education to prepare students for further general education and training” (ETP, 1994).

Primary education is crucial to a nation’s development and serves as the foundation for further education and economic growth. In Ethiopia, primary education spans grades 1 to 8 and is delivered in two cycles.

  • 1st cycle (grades 1-4) and primary
  • 2nd cycle (grades 5-8). According

EGSECE: Ethiopian General Secondary Education Certificate Examination

result.ethernet.edu.et 2024: According to the Ethiopian education and training policy, a regional examination is given in grade 8 to certify the completion of primary education.

The first national examination, the Ethiopian General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (EGSECE), is administered at grade 10 to certify the completion of general secondary education and to select students who qualify for preparatory education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

EHEECE Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination

NEAEA 2024: Similarly, a second national examination, the Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination (EHEECE) is given at grade 12 to place students in higher education institutions.

Since 2001, the second phase of preparatory secondary education has also consisted of two years (Grades 11 and 12) and is regarded as preparation for higher education. Until 2003, pupils could obtain the Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate (ESLC) upon completing this period. The Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination (EHEEE) has since replaced this certificate.

It is worth recalling that the Grade 12 completion certificate, issued by the National Education Assessment and Examination Agency (NEAEA), was previously known as “The Ethiopian University Entrance Examination Certificate.” We would like to inform you that the term has been replaced by the new terminology “Secondary School Leaving Examination (SSLE).”

Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutes (TVETs)

TVET is “those aspects of the educational process involving, in addition to general education, the study of technologies and related sciences, and the acquisition of practical skills, attitudes, understanding, and knowledge related to occupations in various sectors

The total enrollment in TVET between 2004 E.C. (2011/12) and 2008 E.C. (2016/17) has decreased by 3 percent, from 314,159 to 304,139.

New Innovative Medical Education Initiative (NIMEI)

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has been implementing a new curriculum for the training and education of medical doctors. A New Innovative Medical Education Initiative (NIMEI) was launched in Ethiopia in February 2012, and the training of medical doctors using a new approach and curriculum was initiated.
